Pronewable Development, with its partners Rebel and Enercon, won the public tender to develop a wind turbine at Landtong, Rozenburg in the Municipality of Rotterdam. An Agreement of Intent has been signed with energy cooperations Rozenburg and Energie Collectief Waterweg to allow local residents and entrepreneurs to become co-owner.

As usual with wind projects, a long period preceded the granting of the permit. On October 28, 2022, the initiator applied for the environmental permit. As the competent authority, the Municipality of Rotterdam then assessed the permit application on various spatial and environmental aspects such as safety, ecology and noise. The initiator also submitted a permit application to Omgevingsdienst Haaglanden and to Rijkswaterstaat. The draft decisions were published in June 2023; after the period of public inspection and assessment of views, the final permit has been published in September 2023.

Pronewable Development and Rebel work closely with Enercon to install an innovative wind turbine on this location which allows Enercon to test this model.

"With our supply-partner Enercon we are trying to place one of the first E-175 EP5 machines in the world. The turbine marks a new generation of wind turbines."
