Arnhem, 6 November 2024 - Following the announcement today that Royal HaskoningDHV will acquire Pondera Consult, the activities of Pondera Development will be rebranded into Pronewable Development. Pronewable Development will continue as an independent company.
Hans Rijntalder, founder of Pondera Consult and Co-Director of Pronewable Development, explains: “Since the start of Pondera Consult in 2007, we occasionally initiated or co-developed projects that were innovative and complex. Good examples are the nearshore Windfarm Fryslân in the IJsselmeer, the offshore wind prototype Haliade X project and Windfarm Strekdammen on the breakwaters in the North of the Netherlands. In 2020, we decided to professionalize these activities leading to a serious investment portfolio. With the acquisition of Pondera Consult by Royal HaskoningDHV, we decided to separate these activities from the consulting activities and to professionalize further. We are very excited to take this step and are looking forward to grow the company in the coming years.”
“We chose Pronewable as a new name to reflect our vast professional experience, our dedication to the renewable energy sector and our ability to transform dreams and ideas into projects and production of renewable electricity and hydrogen”. Jasper Vet, Co-Director of Pronewable Development, clarifies the new name.
Both companies, Pondera Consult – a company of Royal HaskoningDHV – and Pronewable Development will continue to work closely together on a project basis and have signed a long-term strategic framework agreement today to formalize the relationship.
