Pronewable Development New Zealand started developing renewable energy projects in 2023 and is currently developing several hybrid wind and solar projects around the country.  Pronewable Development New Zealand is a subsidiary of Pronewable Development in the Netherlands, closely working with Pondera Consult.

Our Taranaki based project is in the first assessment stage of the resource consent and is a hybrid wind plus solar project. This first stage is executed by New Zealand specialist companies to ensure that we have the best local expertise available to us, combined with the experience of Pondera Consult and Pronewable Development in the Netherlands.

We are also working closely with landowners of properties in Northland, Marlborough and Otago. The Northland based project, is a medium sized hybrid solar and wind project, the Marlborough based project is a larger sized hybrid solar and wind project, while the Otago project is a large hybrid wind and solar project with a unique storage solution.

We have recently been engaging with parties in Southland for various types of renewable energy generation such as wind and potentially also ocean energy developments.

Pronewable Development NZ is currently focusing on hybrid wind and solar developments, most with storage solutions to optimize delivery of its renewable electricity to the grid and local users and minimize impact on grid stability.

For the medIum and long term, we are looking at emerging technologies as well as, we believe that there is no “one size fits all” approach to the transition to renewable energy.  In fact, we see that a mix of technologies is required for each specific location, to provide the most cost effective transition for all involved.

"Contributing to the emerging renewable energy market in New Zealand with Pronewable Development's experience from Europe."
